The Minister for Trade and Industry has paid a working visit to MND Metals, a key player in Ghana’s industrial and manufacturing sector, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between government and private industry.
The visit formed part of the Minister’s broader agenda to engage stakeholders across the value chain, assess operational challenges, and explore opportunities to boost local production and export competitiveness.
During the tour of the facility, the Minister was taken through the company’s production processes, quality control systems, and ongoing expansion projects. Management of MND Metals highlighted their contribution to job creation, skills development, and the supply of essential materials to both local and international markets.
The Minister commended the company for its commitment to industrial growth and adherence to standards, noting that firms like MND Metals play a crucial role in advancing the government’s industrialisation drive. He reiterated government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, including improving access to finance, infrastructure, and regulatory support.
Discussions also touched on challenges facing the sector, including high energy costs, access to raw materials, and global market competition. The Minister assured the company of continued dialogue and policy support to address these concerns and enhance productivity.
