Zenith Bank has launched its first-ever SME Business Empowerment Lab, a strategic initiative designed to strengthen and accelerate the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
The programme aims to equip Ghanaian entrepreneurs with practical skills, expert insights, and innovative tools needed to scale their businesses in an increasingly competitive environment. Through interactive workshops, mentorship sessions, and tailored advisory services, participants will gain deeper knowledge in areas such as financial management, digital transformation, marketing strategy, and sustainable growth planning.
Bank officials noted that SMEs remain the backbone of Ghana’s economy, contributing significantly to employment and economic development. However, many face challenges including limited access to capital, inadequate business management capacity, and market constraints. The SME Business Empowerment Lab is intended to bridge these gaps by providing structured support beyond traditional banking services.
According to the bank, the initiative forms part of its broader commitment to empowering local businesses and fostering entrepreneurship. By combining financial solutions with capacity-building programmes, Zenith Bank seeks to create a supportive ecosystem that enables SMEs to thrive, expand operations, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Participants have welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, especially as businesses navigate evolving economic conditions. The bank has indicated that the programme will be rolled out in phases, with more entrepreneurs expected to benefit in the coming months.
