Former Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Vicky Bright, has called on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to actively engage Bryan Acheampong and harness his strengths for the unity and future success of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking in the wake of the party’s recent internal contests, Vicky Bright stressed that the post-primaries period should be focused on reconciliation, inclusiveness, and strategic collaboration rather than division. According to her, Bryan Acheampong’s influence, resources, and political experience make him a valuable figure who should be integrated into the party’s broader agenda.
“Dr. Bawumia should work closely with Bryan and turn him into an asset for the party,” she urged, noting that sidelining key contenders after internal elections could weaken the NPP’s chances in future national contests.
Vicky Bright emphasized that unity remains the party’s strongest weapon as it prepares for the road to 2028. She argued that the NPP cannot afford internal fractures, especially after a highly competitive flagbearer race that drew strong support for multiple aspirants.
Her comments come amid ongoing discussions within the party about healing divisions and building a cohesive front following the primaries. Political observers say her call reflects a broader sentiment among party elders and grassroots supporters who want all hands on deck.
By encouraging collaboration rather than rivalry, Vicky Bright believes Dr. Bawumia can consolidate support, tap into diverse talents within the party, and present a stronger, united NPP to Ghanaians.
As the party reorganizes and sets its sights on the future, the message from Vicky Bright is clear: unity over ego, teamwork over tension, and strategy over sidelining.
