The Minority Leader has vowed that the opposition will take all necessary steps to ensure that the (NDC) pays cocoa farmers what is rightfully owed to them.
He accused the governing party of failing to adequately compensate farmers despite challenges facing the cocoa sector, insisting that producers must not be shortchanged for their hard work and contribution to the national economy.
According to him, cocoa farmers remain the backbone of Ghana’s agricultural exports and deserve fair and timely payments. He stressed that any delays or discrepancies in payments would be strongly resisted by the Minority in Parliament.
The Minority Leader further assured farmers that the opposition would use parliamentary oversight mechanisms and public advocacy to demand accountability and transparency in the management of the cocoa sector.
He maintained that safeguarding the welfare of cocoa farmers is critical to sustaining production levels and protecting Ghana’s position in the global cocoa market.
