Fifi Kwetey has urged the National Democratic Congress to set higher standards of conduct and accountability, insisting that Ghanaian youth deserve a “different example” from political leaders.
Speaking at a party event, Kwetey emphasised that the NDC must demonstrate discipline, transparency, and ethical leadership if it hopes to inspire young voters and regain credibility on the national stage.
Call for Tougher Standards Within the Party
Kwetey stressed that internal reforms should go beyond rhetoric, calling on party executives, legislators, and grassroots members to embrace tough but necessary measures to eliminate hypocrisy and strengthen organisational cohesion.
He argued that leading by example is essential for the NDC to reconnect with the youth and build trust among a new generation of Ghanaians.
Youth Engagement at the Forefront
Highlighting the importance of youth participation in politics, Kwetey said the party has a responsibility to demonstrate integrity and vision that resonates with younger voters. “We owe the youth a different example, one that reflects seriousness and commitment,” he said.
Preparing for National Renewal
Political analysts say Kwetey’s message signals a push for internal discipline ahead of upcoming elections. The emphasis on ethics, accountability, and consistent leadership is seen as part of the NDC’s broader strategy to reset its image and position itself as a credible alternative government.
Integrity as a Path to Revival
In closing, Kwetey insisted that the party’s ability to lead Ghana effectively begins with its own standards. By setting a higher bar, the NDC aims to restore confidence, energise youth engagement, and lay the foundation for meaningful national transformation.
