The Member of Parliament for Walewale, Mahama Tiah Abdul‑Kabiru, has criticised the foreign policy approach of Donald Trump amid escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

According to the lawmaker, the growing military confrontation risks destabilising the already volatile Middle East and could have far-reaching consequences for global security and economic stability.

Speaking on the developments, the MP expressed concern that aggressive military responses and confrontational rhetoric could further inflame tensions rather than resolve the underlying disputes.

He argued that while nations have the right to defend themselves, diplomacy and multilateral engagement remain the most sustainable pathways to lasting peace.

The Walewale MP noted that history has shown that prolonged military confrontations in the Middle East often result in humanitarian crises, economic disruptions and wider geopolitical instability.

He therefore urged global leaders, particularly Washington, to prioritise dialogue, negotiation and international cooperation in dealing with the crisis.

According to him, diplomatic channels through international bodies and regional partners should be strengthened to prevent the conflict from escalating into a broader regional war.

He called on the international community to intensify peace-building efforts and encourage all parties involved to return to the negotiating table.

The MP further emphasised that global leadership should focus on de-escalation and constructive engagement, noting that diplomacy remains the most effective tool for resolving complex geopolitical disputes.
