A third suspect associated with the murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah has reportedly passed away following a short illness.

Stephen’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, confirmed this development during an interview with Accra-based Citi News, indicating that he received the information from the officer of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) who is managing the case.

“Yesterday we attended court, and I can confirm that the third suspect has died. I was informed by the Police CID officer responsible for the case. We are grateful to God that our brother has begun to seek justice for himself,” Mr. Amoako remarked.

The death of the suspect introduces a new dimension to an already delicate case that has drawn significant public interest since the officer’s murder.

Mr. Amoah’s family has consistently urged for prompt and comprehensive investigations to ensure accountability and closure.

The police have not yet issued an official statement to confirm the occurrence.

Mr. Amoah was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after he left his residence to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His charred remains were subsequently discovered on July 9 at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, leading to an extensive police investigation and manhunt, which resulted in the apprehension of three suspects.
