Telecommunications company Telecel Ghana has organised a specialised training programme aimed at equipping hearing-impaired entrepreneurs with essential digital finance skills to enhance their businesses.

The initiative forms part of the company’s broader commitment to digital inclusion and empowerment, particularly for persons with disabilities who often face barriers in accessing financial services and business tools.

Participants were taken through practical sessions on mobile money operations, digital payments, online transactions, and basic financial management. The training also highlighted how digital platforms can help small business owners expand their reach, improve record-keeping, and increase revenue.

Officials from Telecel Ghana indicated that the programme is designed to bridge the digital gap and ensure that no group is left behind in the country’s rapidly evolving digital economy. They emphasised that empowering hearing-impaired entrepreneurs with such knowledge will not only improve their livelihoods but also contribute to national economic growth.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the training has boosted their confidence in using digital tools for business. Many said they are now better positioned to adopt cashless transactions and manage their finances more efficiently.

The programme also featured sign language interpreters to ensure effective communication and full participation, underscoring the company’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

Telecel Ghana reaffirmed its pledge to continue rolling out similar initiatives across the country as part of efforts to promote equal opportunities in entrepreneurship and digital innovation.
