A woman accused of opening fire near the home of global music star Rihanna has appeared in court facing a series of additional criminal charges, as prosecutors pursue the case over a shooting incident that shocked residents in a Los Angeles neighborhood.
Authorities say the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz from Orlando, Florida, was initially charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing multiple shots toward the singer’s property earlier this month. Investigators said the shooting occurred during the afternoon while Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their children and other family members were present at the property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
According to prosecutors, the case has since expanded, with Ortiz now facing numerous additional felony counts linked to the alleged attack. These include multiple counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm as well as charges related to shooting into an inhabited dwelling and other structures.
