Despite his loss in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is said to be in good spirits and maintaining a positive outlook, according to Dr. Stephen Amoah, Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso.
Speaking after the conclusion of the closely watched party primaries, Dr. Amoah dismissed suggestions that the outspoken politician was demoralised by the outcome. Instead, he noted that Ken Agyapong has taken the result in stride and remains committed to the broader interests of the NPP.
“He is in good spirits,” Dr. Amoah stated, adding that defeat in an internal contest does not diminish Ken Agyapong’s relevance or influence within the party. He stressed that the businessman-turned-politician understands the dynamics of party democracy and respects the will of delegates.
Dr. Amoah further revealed that the former aspirant has been engaging with supporters and party faithful, encouraging calm and unity in the aftermath of the primaries. According to him, Ken Agyapong is more focused on the party’s future and the need to rally behind a common cause than on personal disappointment.
The remarks come at a time when the NPP is working to heal internal divisions and consolidate support following a competitive flagbearer race. Observers say Ken Agyapong’s reaction could play a crucial role in shaping post-primaries unity, given his strong grassroots following.
As the party turns its attention to the road ahead, Dr. Amoah’s comments suggest that, far from retreating, Kennedy Agyapong remains upbeat, engaged, and ready to contribute to the NPP’s collective success.
