Ghanaian entertainment industry figure Bullgod has spoken publicly about his experience with the police during investigations into the alleged murder of dancehall artiste Kaakie’s former manager, Fennec Okyere.
Bullgod, who was previously arrested and questioned in connection with the case, said the treatment he received from investigators at the time was difficult and deeply distressing.
Speaking in a recent interview, the outspoken artiste manager explained that the experience left a lasting impact on him, describing the process as emotionally and mentally exhausting.
According to him, although he cooperated fully with the authorities during the investigation, he believes the manner in which he was handled could have been better.
He recounted being taken in for questioning and spending time in police custody as investigators sought to gather information related to the high-profile case.
“The experience was not easy at all,” Bullgod said, reflecting on the period when his name was linked to the investigation. “Being treated like a suspect in such a serious matter is something that affects you deeply.”
The murder of Fennec Okyere in 2014 shocked Ghana’s entertainment industry. The respected music executive was found dead at his residence in Accra, sparking widespread calls for justice and a thorough investigation.
At the time, the Ghana Police Service arrested Bullgod as part of the probe, though he consistently denied any involvement in the crime.
He was later granted bail and eventually discharged after prosecutors indicated they did not have sufficient evidence to proceed with the case against him.
Reflecting on the situation years later, Bullgod said the ordeal taught him important lessons about resilience and the realities of being in the public eye.
Despite the controversy surrounding the case, he maintains his innocence and says he remains hopeful that the truth surrounding Fennec Okyere’s death will one day be fully established.
Bullgod added that while the incident was a painful chapter in his life, it has not stopped him from continuing to contribute to Ghana’s music and entertainment industry.
