The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works scheduled for Sunday, March 15, which will lead to temporary power interruptions in several communities.
According to the power distribution company, the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen the reliability of electricity supply across affected areas.
ECG indicated that the maintenance works will take place during the day, with outages expected to last between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm, depending on the location. Residents and businesses within the affected communities have therefore been advised to prepare accordingly and take the necessary precautions.
Areas to be affected
Tema Region (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)
The maintenance works in the Tema enclave will affect the following communities:
- Mobole
- Ataa Mensah
- Boishe
- Afienya
- Philip Kope
- Greenhouse Enclave
- And surrounding areas
Greater Accra Region (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
In parts of the Greater Accra Region, both residential and industrial zones are expected to experience temporary power interruptions. The affected areas include:

- Taxis Tires
- Western World
- Guinness Depot
- Rebecca Fashion Manufacturing Ltd
- Frosty Bite Company
- Perfect Pharmaceutical
- Shivan Ghana Ltd

ECG apologises for inconvenience
The Electricity Company of Ghana has apologised to customers who may be affected by the scheduled outage and appealed to the public to bear with the company while engineers undertake the necessary maintenance work.
The company explained that such planned interruptions are essential to help upgrade infrastructure and ensure a more stable and efficient power supply in the long term.
Residents are also encouraged to switch off electrical appliances during the outage period to avoid damage from possible power surges when electricity is restored.
ECG further advised customers to follow its official communication channels for updates regarding the maintenance exercise and restoration of power.
