Ghana Post Deputy Managing Director and lawyer, Stephen Kingsley Bennieh, has donated GH¢20,000 to support the ongoing branch elections of the (NDC), reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures ahead of future political activities.
The financial contribution is expected to assist in the organisation and smooth conduct of the branch elections, which are regarded as a crucial step in the party’s internal democratic process. The elections are intended to elect branch executives who will lead the party’s activities at the local level and help mobilise members.
Presenting the donation, Stephen Bennieh said strong grassroots leadership remains the foundation of the NDC’s success and that investing in transparent and well-organised branch elections is essential to maintaining the party’s unity and effectiveness.
He urged party members to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the electoral process, stressing the need for discipline, fairness and mutual respect among contestants and supporters. According to him, the elections should strengthen, rather than divide, the party.
Mr. Bennieh also encouraged members to remain focused on the broader objective of building a stronger and more united NDC capable of delivering on its mandate and meeting the expectations of Ghanaians.
Party officials who received the donation expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that would help facilitate the smooth organisation of the branch elections. They also commended Bennieh for his continued support for the party and its grassroots development efforts.
The NDC is currently undertaking branch elections across the country as part of its internal reorganisation, with successful polls expected to lay the foundation for subsequent constituency, regional and national executive elections.
