As thousands of students across the country sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged candidates to remain calm, confident, and trust in the hard work they have put in throughout their studies.

Speaking in a message of encouragement ahead of the examination, Haruna Iddrisu reminded candidates that the BECE is an important milestone in their academic journey, but not a moment for fear or panic. He advised them to approach each paper with focus and a clear mind, stressing that preparation, discipline, and self-belief are key to success.

“Stay calm and trust your hard work. You have prepared well, and this is your time to show what you know,” he encouraged.

He further called on teachers and parents to continue supporting the candidates emotionally, noting that encouragement plays a vital role in boosting the confidence of young students during examinations.

The BECE, administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), brings together hundreds of thousands of candidates nationwide who are seeking placement into senior high schools. This year’s exercise is also being conducted under tightened anti-cheating measures to ensure fairness and integrity in the examination process.

As the exams continue, Haruna Iddrisu wished all candidates success, urging them to remain focused, avoid malpractice, and believe in their abilities to excel.
