The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works in two regions as part of efforts to address ongoing power faults and improve electricity supply reliability.

According to the company, the scheduled maintenance exercise will allow its engineers to undertake critical repair works, replace faulty equipment, and upgrade sections of the distribution network that have been experiencing disruptions. The initiative is aimed at resolving technical challenges that have led to intermittent outages in some communities.

ECG explained that the maintenance forms part of its routine operational strategy to ensure the stability and efficiency of the national power distribution system. Engineers will be deployed to key fault-prone areas to carry out detailed assessments and necessary interventions to prevent recurring breakdowns.

The company has therefore urged customers in the affected regions to take note of the planned outages during the maintenance period and make the necessary adjustments. Residents and businesses have also been advised to unplug sensitive electrical appliances to avoid damage when power is restored.

While acknowledging the inconvenience the exercise may cause, ECG assured the public that the works are essential to delivering a more reliable and stable power supply. The company further indicated that teams will work within the scheduled timeframe to complete the maintenance as quickly as possible.

ECG reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery across the country and appealed to the public for patience and cooperation as engineers work to resolve the faults and strengthen the electricity distribution network.
