Renowned Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur, Bola Ray, has been honoured with the prestigious African Media Icon Award at the 2026 African Heritage Awards, held in Accra.
The ceremony, which brought together leading figures from across Africa’s creative, cultural, and media industries, celebrated individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the continent’s development and global image. This year’s edition took place in Accra, reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as a hub for major continental events.
Bola Ray, known for his decades-long influence in radio, television, and media entrepreneurship, was recognised for his exceptional leadership in shaping modern African broadcasting and inspiring a new generation of media professionals. His work through the EIB Network has expanded opportunities for young talents and strengthened Ghana’s presence in the African media landscape.
In his acceptance remarks, Bola Ray expressed gratitude to the organisers of the African Heritage Awards and dedicated the honour to media practitioners across Africa.
