The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Aggrey Santana, has revealed that the Authority played a key role in supporting A Plus’ Gomoa Easter Carnival, describing the event as a growing cultural and tourism attraction in the Central Region.

Speaking on the sidelines of the festival, Abeiku Aggrey Santana explained that the Ghana Tourism Authority saw the carnival as an important initiative for promoting domestic tourism, community engagement, and cultural celebration during the Easter season.

He noted that the Authority’s involvement was part of a broader strategy to support locally driven events that have the potential to boost tourism and stimulate economic activity in various communities across the country.

According to him, the Gomoa Easter Carnival, organised by entertainment personality A Plus, has gradually evolved into a vibrant annual celebration that attracts thousands of revelers, including visitors from outside the Gomoa area and beyond.

The CEO further praised the organisers for their consistency and creativity in building the festival into a recognised event on Ghana’s entertainment and tourism calendar. He added that such initiatives align with efforts to decentralise tourism and shift attention to community-based attractions.

The Gomoa Easter Carnival featured music performances, cultural displays, street carnivals, and local business exhibitions, creating an avenue for both entertainment and economic opportunities for traders and artisans.

Abeiku Aggrey Santana also encouraged stakeholders in the tourism and creative arts sectors to continue collaborating with the Authority to develop more festivals across the country, stressing that Ghana’s cultural heritage remains a key asset for national development and global attraction.

He assured that the Ghana Tourism Authority will continue to support events that showcase Ghanaian culture, unity, and hospitality, especially those that have the potential to grow into internationally recognised festivals.
