The (ECG) has announced scheduled maintenance works in parts of the country today, a move the power distributor says is necessary to improve service delivery and enhance the reliability of electricity supply.
According to the company, the exercise forms part of its routine maintenance programme aimed at upgrading infrastructure, replacing aging equipment and carrying out technical improvements on the power distribution network. ECG indicated that power supply will be temporarily interrupted in some communities while engineers undertake the work.
Residents and businesses in the affected locations have been advised to take the necessary precautions ahead of the outages. ECG urged customers to switch off electrical appliances during the maintenance period to avoid damage when power is restored.
The company explained that such planned outages are essential to ensure the stability of the power system and to reduce the likelihood of unexpected faults in the future. Officials noted that the works will involve inspections, installation of new components and other technical upgrades within the distribution network.
While the company did not rule out minor adjustments to the schedule depending on operational conditions, it assured customers that teams will work to restore electricity as soon as the maintenance is completed in each area.
ECG also apologised for the inconvenience the planned outage may cause and appealed to the public for patience and cooperation while the exercise is carried out. The company stressed that the improvements are intended to provide more stable and efficient electricity supply in the long term.
Customers are encouraged to check ECG’s official communication channels and local notices to confirm the specific communities and time frames affected by today’s maintenance activities.
