A new opinion poll by Global InfoAnalytics suggests that support for Ghana’s governing party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is declining, while the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is gaining significant ground among voters.

According to the survey results released by the research firm, a growing number of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the current administration, particularly in relation to economic challenges, cost of living pressures and unemployment. Analysts say these concerns appear to be influencing voter sentiment and shifting political momentum.

The poll indicates that if elections were to be held in the near term, the NDC would likely secure a stronger share of voter support compared to the NPP, marking a notable change in the political landscape. The findings also point to a rising number of undecided voters who could play a decisive role in future elections.

Researchers at Global InfoAnalytics noted that public opinion is being shaped by a combination of economic realities and expectations for governance. Many respondents reportedly expressed interest in policy solutions that address inflation, job creation and social welfare.

The survey also examined voter preferences across different regions and demographic groups, revealing that younger voters and urban residents are increasingly vocal about the need for economic recovery and improved public services. Political analysts say this group could significantly influence upcoming electoral contests.

While polls do not always predict final election outcomes, observers say the findings highlight shifting public attitudes and the importance of party strategies in the months ahead. Both the NPP and the NDC are expected to intensify engagement with voters as the political climate evolves.
