The President of the (CAF), , has defended the organization’s controversial decision to strip of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title and instead declare as champions.
The ruling, which has sparked widespread debate across the African football community, followed what CAF described as “serious regulatory breaches” that came to light after the tournament final. According to the governing body, investigations revealed circumstances that undermined the integrity of the competition, prompting its disciplinary structures to take decisive action.
