The Congress of Local Government and Stakeholders Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has issued a stern warning that it may embark on another strike if the government fails to address their demands within 14 days.
According to the association, their call for action stems from unresolved issues affecting the welfare and working conditions of local government workers across the country. CLOGSAG stressed that previous negotiations with authorities have not yielded satisfactory outcomes, leaving members frustrated and considering industrial action as a last resort.
The association urged the government to take immediate steps to meet their demands to avert disruptions in local government services, emphasizing that failure to act could lead to a nationwide strike affecting various municipal and district assemblies.
CLOGSAG has also called on the public to understand their position, highlighting that the strike, if initiated, would be aimed at securing fair treatment and better working conditions for local government staff.
The 14-day ultimatum begins from the date of their official communication to the relevant government agencies.
