The Lordina Mahama has officially inaugurated the newly renovated Anyima Health Centre in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East Region, marking a significant milestone in efforts to expand access to quality healthcare services for local residents and surrounding communities.
The refurbishment and equipping of the centre were undertaken by the Lordina Foundation, reflecting its ongoing commitment to improving maternal and child health care and strengthening primary healthcare delivery. This project brings the total number of health facilities the foundation has built or renovated across the country to six.
During the inauguration ceremony held on March 14, 2026, Mrs Mahama highlighted the personal significance of the initiative, noting her familial ties to the area and her belief in the importance of accessible health services for all Ghanaians.

The renovated Anyima Health Centre now features a modern Out‑Patient Department, consulting and examination rooms, a delivery and labour ward, children’s and male and female wards, an adolescent centre, laboratory, dispensary, and an emergency room. It is equipped with essential medical equipment, including an infant incubator, ultrasound system, ECG machine and neonatal care tools — all aimed at enhancing service delivery and health outcomes.
Mrs Mahama also used the occasion to announce that John Dramani Mahama will soon launch a new Primary Health Care Programme designed to provide free medical services at facilities such as the Anyima centre. The programme aims to increase utilisation of health services, support early detection of diseases, reduce healthcare costs for families, and contribute to a healthier nation overall.
With its upgrades and expanded capacity, the Anyima Health Centre is expected to serve more than 3,000 people from Anyima and neighbouring communities, significantly boosting access to essential healthcare, particularly for mothers and children.
