The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on individuals aspiring to join Ghana’s security services to exercise patience as the recruitment processes unfold.
Speaking during an engagement with party supporters, Asiedu Nketia emphasized that the journey to securing employment in the security sector can be lengthy due to the rigorous screening, background checks, and training requirements necessary to ensure the selection of qualified candidates.
He encouraged applicants to remain committed and continue improving their skills while awaiting official announcements from the relevant agencies. “It is important for all prospective recruits to be patient and focus on preparing themselves adequately. The process is designed to select the best candidates, and that takes time,” he stated.
Asiedu Nketia’s advice comes amid increasing public interest in careers within the police service, military, and other security institutions, where thousands of young Ghanaians apply annually. He also stressed that integrity and diligence during the application process are crucial for success.
Authorities in the security sector have assured applicants that recruitment exercises will be conducted transparently and that all eligible candidates will be given fair consideration.
