Media personality and women’s empowerment advocate has called on women across Ghana and beyond to embrace courage, resilience and purpose in pursuing their dreams and making meaningful contributions to society.
In a message to commemorate , Princess Duncan emphasised the importance of empowering women to believe in their potential and stand boldly in spaces where their voices and talents can make a difference.
According to her, the celebration of International Women’s Day is not only a moment to acknowledge the achievements of women but also an opportunity to encourage them to continue breaking barriers and supporting one another.
She urged women to rise above societal limitations and stereotypes that often hinder their progress, stressing that courage and determination remain essential tools for success.
“Every woman has the power to transform her circumstances and positively impact the lives of others. What we need is the courage to step forward, the confidence to believe in ourselves, and the determination to pursue our purpose,” she said.
Princess Duncan also highlighted the need for stronger networks of support among women, noting that mentorship and collaboration can help accelerate progress toward gender equality.
She encouraged women in leadership, business, media and other sectors to mentor younger women and create opportunities that will enable the next generation to thrive.
The advocate further called on institutions, organisations and communities to continue investing in initiatives that promote gender equality, education and economic empowerment for women.
Princess Duncan noted that when women are given the opportunity to succeed, families, communities and entire nations benefit.
“As women, we must continue to uplift one another, speak up for what is right and pursue our dreams with courage and purpose,” she added.
International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while also advocating for gender equality worldwide.
