The colourful ceremony, which took place at in , brought together representatives from across the to celebrate unity, diversity, and shared values among member states.
The Ga Mantse’s participation formed part of his international engagements aimed at strengthening cultural diplomacy and promoting Ghana’s heritage on the global stage. Dressed in regal traditional attire befitting his royal status, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II joined other distinguished guests at the historic service, which is held annually to mark Commonwealth Day.
The service was attended by senior members of the British royal family, government officials, and representatives from Commonwealth countries. The ceremony featured prayers, musical performances, and reflections centred on the year’s theme, which emphasises cooperation, peace, and sustainable development among member nations.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Ga Mantse highlighted the importance of the Commonwealth as a platform for collaboration and mutual support among countries with shared historical ties. He noted that Ghana continues to play an active role in the Commonwealth and remains committed to promoting unity, development, and cultural exchange.
According to the Ga Mantse, traditional leadership also has a role to play in strengthening international relations by promoting culture, peace, and community development.
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II has in recent years increased his global engagements, using international platforms to promote the Ga state, Ghanaian culture, and opportunities for partnership in tourism, education, and investment.
The Commonwealth Day service is one of the most significant events on the Commonwealth calendar. It celebrates the cooperation among the 56 member countries of the organisation and highlights the collective commitment to democracy, human rights, and sustainable development.
The Ga Mantse’s presence at the ceremony further underscored the role of traditional leadership in representing Ghana on global platforms while fostering deeper connections between Ghana and the wider Commonwealth community.
