The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to address a number of challenges that emerged during its ongoing membership registration exercise, assuring party members that steps are being taken to improve the process and ensure broader participation across the country.
According to the party leadership, the exercise—intended to update and expand the party’s membership database—has encountered some logistical and technical difficulties in certain constituencies. These include delays in the distribution of registration materials, network challenges affecting digital registration platforms, and concerns raised by members regarding verification procedures.
Party officials acknowledged that while the registration process has generally progressed smoothly in many areas, isolated challenges have disrupted the exercise in some constituencies. They said the party is actively engaging regional and constituency executives to resolve the issues promptly.
The NPP leadership stressed that the membership registration drive is a critical step toward strengthening the party’s structures at the grassroots level. By updating its membership records, the party aims to ensure that all active members are properly captured in a modernised database that will guide internal elections, policy consultations and mobilisation efforts.
Party administrators noted that teams have been deployed to constituencies where challenges have been reported to provide technical support and logistical assistance. They also indicated that additional registration materials and equipment are being supplied to affected areas to prevent further delays.
The exercise forms part of broader efforts by the NPP to reorganise and consolidate its structures following the 2024 general elections. Party leaders say the updated register will serve as the foundation for future internal processes, including constituency and regional activities.
Members have therefore been encouraged to cooperate with registration officials and follow the laid-down procedures to ensure that their details are properly captured.
