Renowned rapper Lil Nas X has been apprehended after an incident involving law enforcement in Los Angeles, as confirmed by officials.
As per the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers responded to Ventura Boulevard at approximately 05:30 local time (12:30 GMT) on Thursday following reports of an individual strolling in the street clad only in underwear.

Upon the arrival of the officers at the location, they claim that the singer of Old Town Road “charged” towards them, resulting in his apprehension on the grounds of suspected battery.
Police spokesperson Charles Miller stated that the rapper, whose actual name is Montero Lamar Hill, was later transported to a hospital for treatment due to a potential overdose.
The BBC has reached out to his representatives for a statement.
Unverified video shared by TMZ on Thursday seemed to depict the star dancing in the street wearing only his underwear and cowboy boots, encouraging bystanders to “join the party.”
The rapper is anticipated to unveil his much-awaited second studio album, Dreamboy, later this year, having hinted at new content on Instagram in the past few weeks.

Throughout his career, the artist has frequently encountered controversy. His 2021 single Montero (Call Me By Your Name) incited anger among conservative factions in the United States, who described the video as “depraved” and “evil.” In reaction, Lil Nas X shared a parody apology video on YouTube that interrupted the lap-dancing segment shown in the video, and tweeted that he desired his detractors’ tears to “fill my Grammy cup.”
